To fight the shrieker, I highly suggest a man at arms. Once you get all 4, every hero can slot one in a lightless run, and combine it with other items such as the moon ring/cape, dark crown, or that ancestral thing with +25% virtue. Its own unique trinkets (of which there are 4) aren't bad either if you like lightless runs. Do not take a hero who already has 3 locked in perks, since you'll be unable to lock in a shrieker one, evnetually losing it. Try to take heroes with open perk slots so you can lock these in if they appear. The upside is the incredibly perks you usually get 1 of per fight. The shrieker will regularly pester your town. You can either do it, or let it time out, either way the theft one will come back afterwards, which has no time limit. If both quests pop, the unique one will show on the map. There is however a 2nd Shrieker quest which can spawn, taking the slot of the theft one, which has a time limit, but this is only for the unique trinket, not your stolen ones. There's no time limit on getting your trinkets back, and you won't be robbed a 2nd time until after you get your first set back. Just wait until you have max level heroes. The Shrieker has a nasty habbit of showing up early in the game when you can't reasonably fight the thing. Still it's more embarrassing to lose your knight to a spider because it always managed to move away from your attacks and eventually ruining your formless flesh fight (and no, I do not count getting the trinkets/money an even trade for losing a level 6 character, wish I never bothered with it) Lost my leper because of this bird, so I understand you If you haven't lost 8 trinkets by that point, you'll get randoms. Originally posted by Miles Bluefalls:The bird will give back 8 trinkets that are chosen mostly from a pool of what you have lost, either by death or town event. (and no, I do not count getting the trinkets/money an even trade for losing a level 6 character, wish I never bothered with it) Got the "win", but losing yet another maxed character due to RNG screw on what should have been a clean win is just this game in a nutshell, isn't it. The bird is a CHAMPION level encounter, gets THREE moves per turn, and it is not messing around.Įven with a maxed party that blew thru the actual fight, destroying the nest on turn 2, and keeping everyone in good health, the damned thing STILL killed a Graverobber (with TWO DODGE trinkets on!) on its last turn for me. No, you will NOT win with a level 3 party without suffering losses. The bird WILL shuffle the nest to the rear, and both the bird and the next have rediculous move resists, so bring a party who can hit the rear. Because you CAN kill it, but with the things dodge so high, doing it in 3-ish rounds is very unlikely. You get the trinkets back when you "win" the fight. The bird will give back 8 trinkets that are chosen mostly from a pool of what you have lost, either by death or town event. How often does this occur? I really think this event is OP given it's occurred twice and I have low level Heroes. This is the 2nd time this event has happened and it's only week 40. I've read that just surviving 5 rounds is enough to "win", so my questions are:ġ) If I leave this event alone till I build my roster to level 5, will it still be there and still give me my trinkets back? Or is there a time limit after which those trinkets are gone for good?Ģ) Is it true that just surviving to round 5 will mean I gete my trinkets back? I assume if so, then it can happen to me again and I will lose more trinkets?ģ) Can it steal equipped trinkets? I believe it did but I was not 100% that one of my Heroes was actually wearing one of the now missing trinkets.Ĥ) Can four level 3 Heroes survive this boss encounter and recover my trinkets? Or should I wait till I can send a level 5 party? Could I just send 4 healers equipped with massive Dodge and ignore trying to damage the boss? I've just had this event for the first time, and the Shrieker seems to have managed to steal my 8 best trinkets!! Since my roster is mostly level 2 to 3, I assume I cannot fight this boss at the moment and expect to kill it. |
